Illustrating many cars, old and new

Ward's Quarterly magazine featured stories of the early days of the auto industry. I had fun researching and doing the art for most of these articles. Below are a few examples of some of the illustrations.

Wards 17

Pencil sketches of early vehicles. Thomas B. Jeffery and his first Rambler built in Chicago in 1897. Below is the Model B, the second Rambler and the 1902 Rambler which drove round trip from New York to Boston averaging 14 miles per hour.

Wards 18

At The top of this group is the first Ford car which appeared on the streets of the future Motor City in June 1896. Below are the 1902 prototype and the 1904 Model B.

The 1917 Hudson ambulance built for the armed forces in World War 1.

The 1914 Stutz Bearcat series E and the 1918 and 1926 Jordan Playboy.
